Neuroscience students visit The Beautiful Brain: The Drawings of Santiago Ramón y Cajal exhibit at New York University’s Grey Art Gallery, March 2018
Neuroscience research seeks to explore one of science’s last and most challenging frontiers by employing a broad spectrum of techniques and interdisciplinary approaches to reveal the intricate functions of the nervous system. Pursuing a Ph.D. in neuroscience provides students with the opportunity to investigate the functions of the brain at many levels with the goal of elucidating how we think, move, perceive, learn and remember. Through understanding these processes, neuroscientists also address complex neurological and psychiatric disorders which have profound clinical and societal impacts.
We invite you to consider VCU as the place to begin your journey.
